Our Accreditation

The Gatton College of Business and Economics has been accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business since 1926. Similarly, the accounting programs within the Von Allmen School of Accountancy have been accredited by AACSB International since 1988 soon after AACSB began offering separate accreditation for accounting programs. Accreditation by AACSB has been earned by less than 5% of the world's business programs and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.

Program Specific Requirements
- Must have obtained a baccalaureate degree, prior to the start of the admission term, from a fully accredited U.S. institution of higher learning or from a recognized foreign institution. See Graduate School admissions for specifics.
- An overall grade point average of 2.75 on undergraduate work and 3.00 on all graduate work, if applicable.
- 3+ years of post-undergraduate work experience (preferred)
- International applicants whose native language is not English must submit either a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score. See Graduate School admissions for specifics.
Once admitted into the MBA program, all incoming MBA candidates are required to successfully complete MBA Math and an Economics tutorial training to prepare for our program. The cost for MBA Math is $100 per candidate and takes approximately thirty hours to complete. The training for Economics is free and takes less than 10 hours to complete.

- Resume or CV
- Submit your resume highlighting professional experience, educational history, and accomplishments. Cover letters are not required.
- Personal Statement on the topic of "Personal and Professional Growth" answering the following prompt:
- Write a personal statement (500-700 words) that address the following questions: Considering your professional goals, why are you pursuing an MBA? Why do you believe the University of Kentucky's MBA program is a good fit for you? What do you perceive to be your unique strengths that will help you succeed in our program as well as professionally in your career.
- Two letters of recommendation
- Two letters of recommendation from an individual (one must be current or former employer) who is able to objectively assess the quality of your character, capabilities and accomplishments as well as your overall potential as an MBA student and future business leader.
- Unofficial transcripts from all universities attended
Candidates may be requested to sit for an interview prior to a decision being finalized.
