This program does not admit students who plan to stop their studies at the master's degree level. If you are interested in earning a PhD in Sociology, please see our PhD program, where students earn a master's degree while pursing the PhD.

The Department of Sociology at the University of Kentucky currently only admits students pursuing a Ph.D. degree. Students can earn an M.A. degree as part of the Ph.D. program only.

Please note that we are not currently accepting applications for a terminal master's degree. For student's interested in earning a PhD in Sociology, and earning your master's degree en passant, please apply directly to the PhD in Sociology program.
