Program Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Developmental Disabilities prepares professionals from a broad range of disciplines to provide services and supports for people with developmental disabilities and their families. This program is housed in the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute. Coursework emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach. Students have the opportunity to conduct a research project, participate in a practicum, and work with individuals with developmental disabilities along with the individual’s family, to gain invaluable field experience. Individuals with disabilities, family members of individuals with disabilities, and professionals serving this population are encouraged to apply. Applicants do not need to be concurrently enrolled in a graduate degree program as long as they meet the requirements for admission to the Graduate School.
