Program Overview
The Ph.D. in Chemistry program offers rigorous training in advanced chemical research, preparing students to become independent scientists and leaders in academia, industry, or government. Students work closely with faculty mentors on cutting-edge research in areas such as analytical, organic, inorganic, physical, and biological chemistry. In addition to deepening their scientific expertise, students develop skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific communication—equipping them to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of chemical science and its applications in the world.
Areas of specialization in chemistry are analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical, and radionuclear. All candidates for the Ph.D. degree are required to serve as a teaching assistant for one semester.
