Characteristics of a Quality Program
Our BSN Program has a consistent record of providing high quality education in the classroom in our state-of-the-art skills laboratory and at clinical practice sites such as A.B. Chandler Hospital, Good Samaritan, and Kentucky Children’s Hospital, as well as other local health care agencies.

Yes, we challenge our students. It’s a team effort with one-to-one student/faculty contact outside of the classroom and academic support. The challenge is worth it - NCLEX-RN (post-graduation board exams) first-time pass rates have averaged 97 percent for the past ten years.

Eligible students who are interested in delving even deeper into their specialized areas of interest have opportunities to be involved in nursing enrichment programs in the college: The college collaborates with UK HealthCare in offering a high quality summer academic nursing externship for junior- and senior- level students – the Student Nurse Academic Practicum (SNAP).

How do employers view our graduates? Of employers who responded to a survey about their satisfaction with the quality of graduates of the UK BSN Program, 100 percent were satisfied or highly satisfied. Similarly, 98 percent of alumni responded that they were satisfied or highly satisfied with the quality of the UK BSN Nursing program.
