BSN Class Profile

You’ll find a mix of students at the College of Nursing. For fall 2011 we had 586 undergraduate students, of which 513 were female and 73 male. Of the total, 69 were minority students and we continue recruiting efforts to bring in more male and minority students.

Each semester we admit 80 new students to the BSN Program, another 16 to the Second Degree BSN Option (for those who already have a bachelor’s in another field) and each fall we admit 40 new students to the RN-BSN Option (for nurses who hold a diploma or associates degree in nursing who want to complete their bachelor’s).

For four-year traditional BSN sophomores admitted to the professional curriculum for fall 2011, the incoming GPA averages 3.6 (on a 4.0 scale) with a 3.6 in college science courses. For the Second Degree BSN Option, the average GPA for admitted students averages 3.1.

Admission is competitive for all programs.
