This faculty practice position fulfills two different roles for the Lawrence County Health Department. Three days each week a nurse practitioner serves in a rural high school of 800 students in Eastern Kentucky. In this role the nurse practitioner treats and counsels students and staff with acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.

The role also involves case management and working with families and the community. The second role is at the Lawrence County Health Department providing family planning exams and treating sexually transmitted infections.
