In addition to supporting the conduct of traditional research, the college supports faculty participation in the scholarship of practice. These activities focus on priorities such as:
- facilitating transitions of nursing graduates into new practice roles
- quality or process improvement activities
- the development of nursing expertise in targeted areas
- program or outcome evaluations
- evidence-based practice
Many of our nurse faculty members also engage in practice scholarship through leadership roles in local and national nursing (or health-related) organizations, such as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Heart Association, American Public Health Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
