The psychiatric clinical liaison nurse collaborates with the health care team to provide optimal care for patients with challenging mental health care needs; assists in the identification of psychodynamic and psychosocial issues impacting the consistency and quality of mental health care of patients; provides consultation to unit nursing staff in developing successful intervention strategies in patient/family situations to increase patient, family and staff satisfaction and promote safety; assesses, makes recommendations for action, develops and supports the implementation of specialty specific organization initiatives.
