Primary care nurse practitioners provide health care for individuals with a variety of episodic and chronic health problems with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Track at UK offers two specialties, family nurse practitioner and adult nurse practitioner. Family nurse practitioners provide care to individuals from birth throughout the lifespan including childbearing women. Adult nurse practitioners provide care to individuals 13 years old to the end of life.
