Gill Chair of Nursing at the College, has been awarded $1.9 million by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Nursing Research to implement a cardiovascular risk reduction intervention in four Kentucky Department of Corrections state-run prisons.

UK Goes Tobacco-Free on Nov. 19On Nov. 19, 2009, UK will join more than 300 other U.S. colleges and universities with tobacco-free and/or smoke-free policies in place for the entire campus, indoors and out, applying to all campus grounds and parking areas.

Center for Biobehavioral Research in Self-Management Awards Grant to Jenna HatcherDr. Jennifer Hatcher's grant titled "Sisters P.R.A.I.S.E. (Promoting Responsible Attitudes and Ideas about Self-Empowerment): A Tailored Self-Service Breast Cancer Education Kiosk with a Personal Touch" was selected for funding by the Center for Biobehavioral Research in Self-Management. Dr. Hatcher will receive $10,000 to assist with her research study.

The index was published in the Jan. 12, 2007 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education.
