Purpose: Provide pharmacology update and continuing education for nurses.
Objectives:At the conclusion of this program, the participant should be able to:
- review prescription issues: update on new laws affecting drug approval and prescribers;
- describe pharmacology and patient outcomes associated with clinical use of select new drugs approved in 2010-2011;
- discuss patient adverse effects, drug indications and clinical implications of new drugs;
- compare patient outcomes and clinical use of new drugs to those previously approved for similar indications.
Target audience: RN and APRN practitioners. Meets the KBN 5-hour pharmacy requirement
