Established in 2006, the College of Nursing Hall of Fame identifies distinguished graduates and their extraordinary contributions to the nursing profession. At the 2011 induction ceremony, Jane M. Kirschling, dean of the college, said, “As we envisioned this evening, which is the culminating event of a yearlong celebration of this 50th anniversary milestone, our hope was everyone who is here would experience tremendous pride in the richness of the contributions that have been made by University of Kentucky nursing faculty, students, alumni and staff. We, of course, are also here to recognize the exceptional work of five alumni who comprise our second cohort of the college’s Hall of Fame.”
